LEWIS COUNTY, NY – The County of Lewis Industrial Development Agency (IDA), administered by Naturally Lewis, Inc., is now accepting proposals for the reuse of the former Harrisville Bank property at 14216 State Street Harrisville, NY 13648.
Earlier this year, the IDA purchased the vacant property with the goal of returning it to productive, local use. The property had previously been listed by a national real estate company at a price point out of reach for many community members. Recognizing the importance of this site to Harrisville’s downtown, the IDA acted to ensure the property could be resold at a fair market value, with the intention of supporting local commercial investment and community growth.
“This is creating opportunity for local people who want to invest in their community,” said Cheyenne Steria, Director of Development at Naturally Lewis, Inc. “The IDA Board saw an opportunity to step in, make the property attainable, and now we’re looking for the right buyer with a plan to bring commercial investment to Harrisville.”
The IDA is specifically seeking proposals that align with its mission of supporting economic development, strengthening local businesses, and fostering vibrant communities. Proposals will be evaluated based on the proposed use, economic and community impact, and a commitment to maintaining the property as a commercial asset.
Proposals for the reuse of the former Harrisville Bank property are being accepted at https://naturallylewis.com/support/relocate-your-business. The deadline for submissions is October 17, 2025 at 4pm.
